Canadian John Munro is expected to arrive in Kingston, Ont. between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Munro is swimming Lake Ontario as a fund-raiser.
Munro was to make landfall at Confederation Basin, in front of Kingston's city hall.
What follows is our coverage of the start of Munro's swim Tuesday.
A Canadian man who plans to swim Lake Ontario hit the water in Sackets Harbor Tuesday morning.
John Munro (seen here) plans to swim for 27 hours, in an attempt to raise money for the
Kingston, Ont. YMCA special education program.
One question: what do you think about while swimming 27 hours?
Munro says he'll think about the work at hand, and the reward.
"How much can we raise? What kind of programs can we develop? I'll be thinking about my crew and the great support," Munro said.
"It will show nothing's impossible," said Vicki Keith, Munro's wife and trainer.
Munro expects to arrive in Kingston at mid-day Wednesday.
